Likewise is a brand new techno project founded by veteran producer Jeremy Reid AKA Tapwatr (Attitude Recordings, Noerg) and Dominic Poulin AKA DJ Tenzin (Attitude Recordings, Tech Safari), both instrumental figures in the electronic music underground in Montreal, Canada. Pulsating with hypnotic energy, Kiss My Aura demonstrates a dark and edgy vision of minimal and progressive techno. Toronto producers Knifestyle and Aerodrömme both put their own twist on the original to round out the release.
Pop The Cherry features a set of four floor-filling tracks by Aerodrömme, a vibrant new Canadian techno and progressive act founded Boris Kurtzman (DJ Shankar) and Steve Chan in 2008. With releases on Tribal Vision Records, Spiral Trax, Plusquam Division, and Blue Tunes, Aerodrömme has emerged as one of the most promising names in progressive techno. Their style is an effective blend of progressive house and minimal techno with a hint of electro, all tuned and tweaked for maximum dance floor response.
Drawing influence from the psychedelic, progressive, and techno movements, Repeat Customer have forged a deep and deadly style that crosses genre boundaries in the pursuit of a complex emotional response in the listener. Treading from dark and deadly to light and airy, this release will take you on a whirlwind tour of the versatile Repeat Customer sound.
D-Nox & Beckers – Son Of A Pitch [Systematic Recordings]
This set was recorded live at the 2009 edition of Eclipse, an annual psytrance festival held at the Bonnet Rouge campground in Ste-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau, Québec. My time slot was 9pm to 11pm on the opening night, Friday. Since people were just arriving I opted to play a deep and driving blend of techno and progressive psytrance to warm up the crowd and get everyone excited for the three days and nights of music to come. As with any live recording there are a few imperfections but I am mostly happy with how it all came out. Given how early I was on, many of my friends from Toronto were unable to catch it, so posting this set is also my way of saying “here’s what you missed!”

Behind Blue Eyes & Krusseldorf – The World Is Our Oyster (BBE Mix) [Iboga Records]
This set was recorded at the Om Reunion Project’s winter solstice celebration, Dreamcatcher, which was held on December 19th, 2008, in Toronto, Canada. The style is a frosty blend of minimal techno, progressive house, and deep psychedelic trance influences. The scope is somewhat limited as it is a relatively short set but it should make for good listening nonetheless. Enjoy!
